KH. ZARKASYI RAHIEM'S Dakwah Communication Strategy in Community Development Efforts in PRENDUAN VILLAGE
Keywords:
Da’wah Communication Strategy, Efforts in Community DevelopmentAbstract
Da’wah communication strategies play a vital role in efforts to develop and nurture communities. Da’wah is a religious practice in which Allah SWT is invoked and others are invited to believe in and obey Him. This activity must remain original, creative, and dynamic, considering the continuous changes and complexities of social life. The development and innovation of da’wah are not solely dependent on its content—which must be relevant to societal needs—but also on the application of appropriate theories, techniques, and media. Based on this perspective, the researcher focuses on two core questions: (1) What are the da’wah communication strategies employed by K. Zarkasi Rahem in fostering community development in Prenduan Village? and (2) What supporting and inhibiting factors influence these communication strategies? This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing observations in Prenduan Village, interviews with K. Zarkasi Rahem and local community members, as well as documentation of related activities. The research subjects consist of K. Zarkasi Rahem and residents of Prenduan Village, with triangulation techniques used to ensure the validity of data. The findings of this study reveal two main points. First, K. Zarkasi Rahem uses two primary methods in his da’wah strategy: da’wah bil hal (preaching through actions) and da’wah bil lisan (preaching through speech). Second, several supporting factors were identified: (1) the majority of the population adheres to Islam, (2) adequate facilities are available for da’wah activities, and (3) there is broad support from various stakeholders. However, the main inhibiting factor lies in K. Zarkasi Rahem himself, who faces challenges due to limited time and personnel
