Spatial Analysis of Water Hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) Distribution in Pluit Reservoir, North Jakarta Using Unmanned Aerial Vehicle

This study discusses the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) technology in spatial analysis of the distribution of water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) in the Pluit Reservoir, DKI Jakarta. By using the UAV, high-resolution aerial imagery data is obtained to map the growth pattern and distribution of water hyacinth. This research was conducted in Pluit Reservoir, DKI Jakarta. The process of taking aerial photos of the Pluit Reservoir was carried out on July 18 2023 at 10.30 WIB and July 26 2023 at 10.00 WIB. The tools and materials used in this study include the DJI-Zenmuse L1 LiDAR Drone and GPS RTK (Real-Time Kinematic). The results showed that before dredging the water hyacinth area was 15.49 ha and the water bodies in the Pluit Reservoir were 61.65 ha, and after cleaning and dredging the water hyacinth area was 4.95 ha and the water bodies were 72.19 ha. The results of the analysis enable evidence-based decisions to be made for more effective and sustainable control measures. Thus, the use of UAVs in the analysis of water hyacinth distribution in the Pluit Reservoir has the potential to maintain the balance of aquatic ecosystems and ensure environmental sustainability.
