Speaking skills are an essential component of Indonesian language education that plays an important role in the process of effective communication. However, students often face various challenges in developing this skill, such as lack of confidence and minimal opportunities to practice in relevant contexts. Project-based learning has been recognized as an innovative and effective method in overcoming these challenges. This study aims to explore the role of project-based learning in improving the speaking skills of Indonesian language study program students at Madura University. The research method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. The research subjects are fourth semester students who are actively involved in project-based learning. The results showed that this method had a significant positive impact on students' speaking skills. Students involved in the project showed increased confidence, better communication skills, and higher critical thinking skills. In addition, project-based learning provides a relevant and real context for students to practice speaking, which ultimately improves their ability in oral communication. The conclusion of this study is that project-based learning.
