Menguatkan Literasi Bahasa Inggris melalui Program Pembelajaran Kolaboratif untuk Siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama

Abstrak

Kemampuan literasi bahasa Inggris memegang peranan penting dalam menghadapi persaingan global. Namun, siswa di tingkat Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) di Indonesia seringkali mengalami kesulitan dalam menguasainya. Faktor-faktor seperti metode pembelajaran yang kurang interaktif, motivasi rendah, dan keterbatasan sarana pembelajaran menjadi hambatan utama. Program pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi bahasa Inggris siswa kelas 7 di SMP 5 Kabupaten Pamekasan melalui pendekatan pembelajaran kolaboratif. Metode ini dirancang untuk mendorong kerja sama, diskusi, dan saling berbagi pengetahuan di antara siswa, guru, dan peneliti. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain deskriptif, serta melibatkan guru dan siswa sebagai partisipan. Hasil pengamatan dan evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan motivasi, keterlibatan, dan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi bahasa Inggris. Tes pre-test dan post-test yang dilakukan juga menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada keterampilan literasi siswa. Program ini diharapkan dapat menjadi model bagi sekolah lain dalam meningkatkan literasi bahasa Inggris siswa melalui pembelajaran kolaboratif.
