Development of Receptive Language Skills in Early Childhood by Using Flash Cards to Introduce English
Keywords:
English language, flash card, receptive language skillsAbstract
Receptive language is the initial process of language acquisition in early childhood. The aim of this research is to identify learning resources that can improve children's receptive language when introducing English. This is due to the fact that the current generation is the generation needed to compete globally. This study was conducted using a qualitative research approach with a case study design in one of the schools in Propo. The results show that schools use flash cards as a receptive language learning tool, namely listening and reading, because children pay attention to the vocabulary and pronounce it back when they read the pictures on the flash cards. Therefore, researchers believe that teachers need flash cards to teach children to read these vocabulary words
